Glucksman Ireland House, the Center for Irish and Irish-American Studies at New York University, invites applications for an appointment as Faculty Fellow in Irish History to begin on September 1, 2025, pending budgetary and administrative approval.
We seek candidates with a Ph.D. in History who can serve and expand the areas of historical study covered by our curriculum at the undergraduate and graduate level. The course load will be three courses per year and the appointment will be renewable annually for a term of up to three years.
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary for this position is $60,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
Qualifications
The successful candidate should have a demonstrated record of teaching and research in early modern and/or modern Irish history. The center is committed to building inclusive classroom experiences for a diverse student body, and seeks candidates equally interested in fostering these goals.
Candidates must have completed their Ph.D. by the time of appointment, and have received the Ph.D. within five years of appointment (i.e. conferral of Ph.D. after September 1, 2020).
